I often travel in Ireland while taking care of children. It’s allowed me to help them, to take care of them while discovering a new culture. There’s one child that had a truly special impact on me. He had two prosthetic legs, but he was always the first to run and play with others…to go on the swings…to go on the trampoline.
This moved me because we used to pity him and his handicap, to be afraid for him. But his handicap didn’t stop him or slow him down; he was just like the others, having even more fun than they were.
