“We have a 6:00 PM appointment for our citizenship ceremony today. We get voter cards, passing through the ceremonial hall lined with red and chandeliers. The mayor gave us a speech, that “This is it, we are officially voters.” It’s time to enjoy the buffet and champagne waiting for us. We meet, we discuss, we share our knowledge with one another. We share with one another, enjoying our time together as young people, and celebrating this card—a symbol of our right and duty to vote as citizens.”
